Very pleasant stay. Great breakfast, big enough to satisfy any appetite. Friendly staff. Room well appointed although trouble flushing the toilet on our final morning which we reported, so hopefully the hotel will fix this for the next guest. We were evacuated for a short time on our first night while the National Grid people were called due to a suspected gas leak. It was quickly sorted and the hotel served us complementary coffee during the call out. The kitchen was closed for hot food that night so we were also given complementary sandwiches and a round of drinks from the bar.
We couldn't fault the roast dinner at all. Cosy little place, friendly staff & very relaxed. Would've been happy to spend a night there but just popped in for lunch.

Go there cause havoc sometimes when under the influence of this strange thing called alcohol. Strange as it an inn.
Great local pub with a lovely atmosphere and we have been many times before. This time they seemed to have a problem cooking the steaks as requested though.

Nice pub. Good food
Well presented pub with excellent menu and good choice of beer. My only gripe would be that the dining area is a little too close to the bar which made the dining experience noisy at times.

I liked the atmosphere a lot. Nice people and great surroundings. The whole thing was sort of standardized, though. Tables were dirty and full with plates; staff was not particularly friendly or welcoming.
Our third visit to this establishment. Well worth the long journey to this lovely old town and this beautiful Wetherspoons pub. A former Post office it has a great ambience about it. The ceilings have wooden roof trusses and there are are skylights which make the L shaped room bright and cheerful. The furnishings are clean and comfortable and there are log fires in winter. The food and service is the usual good standard. Always a pleasure to return.
